Dropbox has rolled out a new feature that allows users to easily share files and folder with their Facebook friends. With this feature enabled user do not have to remember all e-mail address or Dropbox user names of their friends and co-workers.
To share a Dropbox folder, go to the Dropbox Share page and pick a folder you want to share. Now if you haven’t already linked your Facebook account with Dropbox, you will notice a link above the name field. Click on the link to connect your Dropbox and Facebook accounts.
Once the accounts are connected, the service syncs your contacts and now when you begin typing a name you will see both e-mail address contacts as well as your Facebook contacts. Select the individual from the list with whom you wish to share your Dropbox file or folder and send the invite on its way.
Now the recipient will receive a Facebook message alerting them to your invitation, at this point they can either log-in to an existing Dropbox account or sign-up for Dropbox using your invitation.
The great news about this feature is that Dropbox has kept it as an optional feature and with this step Dropbox will likely reach an even larger audience.
